Poetry Fest
Ludington Visiting Writers held its second major poetry festival, Ludington Poetry Fest 2006, May 18-20.

Over 20 top Michigan poets were brought in for the three-day Poetry Fest that presented readings, workshops, panel discussions, a book sale area, and school outreach to local high schools, elementary, and special-needs schools.

Poets included Jackie Bartley, Elinor Benedict, Anthony Butts, Patricia Clark, Linda Nemec Foster, Vievee Francis, Mary Jo Firth Gillett, Rob Haight, David James, Josie Kearns, Thomas Lynch, Joe Matuzak, Paula McClain, Dawn McDuffie, Judith Minty, Ander Monson, William Olsen, Lynne Potts, Greg Rappleye, Jack Ridl, Phillip Sterling, Keith Taylor and Diane Wakoski.

Collaborators included the Ludington Area Arts Council; Mason County District Library, Downtown Ludington merchants; and Mason and Manistee County schools.

Poetry Fest

Ludington Visiting Writers is completing its 6th year of literary programs, including an on-going reading series, conferences, poetry festivals, workshops, and local school outreaches.
